The Chinese research and development team at the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) reports a new discovery on how to make single-crystal, nickel-rich cathodes stronger and more efficient -- by using high-nickel-content single-crystal materials as cathodes, they The effect of "having both the fish and the bear's paw" is achieved. In this context, nickel has become a big dark horse. Caitong Securities believes that Tesla is the industry wind vane, leading the process of high-nickelization of cathode materials. Nickel will be the most promising battery metal in the next ten years. It is predicted that by 2030, the demand for nickel in power batteries will soar tenfold from 139,000 tons in 2020 to 1.4 million tons, accounting for 30% of total nickel demand.
